About Us

This is us!

We are Yorkshire based sisters, with over 20 years experience in the fashion industry. After much soul searching during the height of the pandemic, we decided it was time to start our own brand and Luce & Bear was born. Our main inspiration is wellbeing which, to us, family, animals and the great outdoors play a huge part of. In a world that is full of mass production, we are striving to create something different, a small family brand that showcases the things that really matter to us. We design everything ourselves here in Harrogate, and even though our end product is lighthearted and hopefully raises a smile, all our ideas come from the heart and have strong personal meanings and messages behind them. We really hope you like them, that they resonate with you, and that you continue to be part of our evolving adventure.

Lucy's ongoing battle with late stage Lyme Disease was the inspiration behind our signature SOS print (above) which you will see on many of our products, most notably our best-selling 'Healing Hoodie'. It's packed full of bespoke symbols with hidden meanings to help bring a little extra strength and power, love and luck for the days you need it most. Whatever your own personal battle is, we know it can get tough, real tough. Our print is just to let you know that we get it and that we care. There's a flying carpet to transport you to your favourite place, a phone to remind you there's always someone to call, and a life buoy so you remember to hold on even if you sometimes feel like you're drowning. We've even thrown in some magic beans because... in a sometimes very serious world... we all need to believe in a little magic.

PS. Look out for our logo (above). It's a contemporary version of the Native American symbol for sisters, which indicates union, bond and equality. We have always worked together and neither of us would have made this step by ourselves. We would be totally lost without each other’s support so this logo represents us perfectly. We hope you enjoy seeing it in its many different guises... a little reflection of us!
