We still can’t quite believe this happened but last week we attended a Reception at Westminster in the historic House of Lords. It was one of the most surreal and awe inspiring days we’ve had so far!

Glad rags on, tube map out, and off we went to London. We didn't get off to a good start... our train conked out before we even got to York, we sat on it for 90 minutes before another train came along to give us a croggy and we were finally towed into York station!! We'd missed our connecting train to London, and the next three… ... when we finally got to Kings Cross we legged it across London on the hottest day of the year so far, two tubes later, some old school map reading, and we eventually made it through the airport style security and into the House of Lords just in time... and what a setting!!
We were so nervous and felt totally out of our depth (& comfort zone!) but were immediately made to feel so welcome. We had drinks on the terrace overlooking the Thames, and a very fancy afternoon tea, how cool is that?!
We listened to a panel of powerhouse businesswomen and loved their brutal honesty and advice. We were completely in awe of the main speakers, Harriet Hastings of Biscuiteers and the man himself, TV Dragon Theo Paphitis, the ultimate cheerleader of small business in the UK!
We tried to take in every moment and learnt so much from every speaker... from things we are on the right track with, to things we really need to work on! We aslo got to chat with other business owners and it was great to hear their individual stories and come away with new friends. It was an unforgettable, magical day, and an experience we will always treasure!
